Episode 18: Talent

 

"How are you feeling?"

 

"W-Wait, you...? You defeated the area boss too!?"

 

"I healed the injury, and Milia here took down the monsters."

 

"...Huh!?"

 

Sion looked at me in surprise.

 

Hmm... Did my explanation not get through?

 

Just as I was about to explain again—

 

"T-Thank you so much!!"

 

"You two are our lifesavers!"

 

Sion's companions bowed their heads.

 

Sion, having gotten up, also bowed his head to us.

 

"Sorry about earlier... I said some pretty harsh things. I never imagined a newbie like you would be this strong. Thank you so much for helping. I can't thank you enough..."

 

In comparison to normal rookie adventurers, it might seem like he's joking.

 

I don't think they did anything to apologize for, but if I were in their shoes... I can understand the feeling. I'll accept their apology and thanks sincerely.

 

"You're welcome. And don't worry about what happened earlier."

 

"Yeah, everyone being safe is what matters!"

 

In response, Sion and his friends seemed deeply moved.

 

"You guys really have big hearts. I'm Sion, and this is Leen and Shear. Could you tell us your names...?"

 

"I'm Rain Shadow."

 

"And I'm Milia Shadow."

 

When we introduced ourselves, Sion seemed a bit surprised.

 

"So, Rain and Milia are a married couple!?"

I glanced at Milia.

 

I felt like Milia was about to say something strange, but maybe it was just my imagination?

In terms of combat capability alone, Milia and I are definitely among the top adventurers. However, in terms of knowledge and connections, we're no different from other rookie adventurers.

 

Perhaps our connection with Sion and his friends might prove useful in the future.

One of Sion's friends, Leen, asked.

Since it's a game, player characters could use the navigation map in the upper right corner of the screen to pinpoint the location of monsters, so I didn't think it was anything special.

 

"Even with that healing spell from earlier... you really have an amazing talent. Rain, you're definitely going places. You're beyond what Hero-sama could do at your age."

 

Wow, he's really praising me a lot.

 

It's a bit embarrassing.

 

"W-Well... I'll do my best to become a respectable adventurer."

And so, after helping Sion and his friends, we collected the area boss 'Red Dragon' into our item box and left Noble Mountain behind.
